choosing the size of the Salsa Kingz band for your function, it is wise to
consider a couple of important points.
What kind of impact do you wish to create for your guests?
Whether you choose to have a big band followed by a spectacular
colourful floor show of choreographed dancers, or a three piece band
with a single dancing couple as a floor show; The options are endless
and adaptable to your needs. Naturally, the bigger the band, the bigger
the floor show, the bigger the impact and the higher overall chances of
making a lasting and memorable function.
How many guest do you intend to have?
As a general rule in Salsa bands, functions with less than 100 guest, can
easily be entertained with a three piece, even up to a five piece band.
Audiences of over 100 guest will benefit greatly of bands from seven
piece to a nine piece band. Finally a big band of the ten of more
musicians is generally used with audiences exceeding 300 guests, such
as in large corporate events and outdoor festivals.
Do you require a dance floor?
It is a small detail that can be easily overlooked. Not only will your
dancing guest enjoy a dance floor over a carpeted surface, but also if
you choose to have a floor show, the dance floor will help give your
function a touch of elegance and forward planning.
What size function room will you require?
A major factor in choosing the band size is also the available room
capacity of your chosen function room. The stage and band equipment
must factor in the final band size decision. In most cases the band would
require a raised stage. Most function rooms have portable stages
available and should be consulted with your venue function coordinator.
Is your chosen venue able to accommodate the sound
requirements?
It is common for most venues that service corporate events, to have an
in-house sound reinforcement system and sound engineering team at
their disposal.
Should the venue not have these facilities available, the Salsa Kingz
band can refer and nominate some of their allied sound engineering
contractors at competitive prices.
